Welcome to Destination.ma. We work for transparency, reliability and security on both sides of our marketplace. This policy explains how partners are checked, the safety rules they follow and how travellers can report a problem, for the public directory as well as for our active partners.
1. How we check partners
Our promise: "Verified vendors only — every business ID-checked before going live." No directory page can become an active partner storefront that takes bookings and payments before passing this check.
What we ask for
- Identity: a valid identity document (national ID card or passport) of the owner or legal manager, and its number.
- Legal form: the legal form of the business (company, sole trader, cooperative…).
- Proof of the business: a document matching that legal form, such as the trade register extract (Registre du Commerce) for a company.
- Regulated activities: for activities that need an official authorisation (classified hotels, guest houses, car rental agencies, travel agencies and tour operators…), our team may ask for the operating licence and a valid professional liability insurance certificate.
We use these documents only to confirm that the business is real and entitled to operate. A partner who does not provide them cannot take bookings or receive payments.
2. Directory pages and partner pages
Destination.ma shows both a public directory and verified partner storefronts:
- Directory pages (not claimed) are made from publicly available business information (name, public contact details, category, address). These businesses have not been through our check: their pages do not carry the "Verified" mark and only offer direct contact, with no booking or payment through us.
- Partner pages belong to owners who claimed their page (or created a partner account) and passed our check. Only they can take bookings and payments on the platform.
3. Safety rules by activity
Verified partners must follow these rules:
- Stays, riads and apartments: keys, a key box or check-in staff must be available. The place must match its photos and description, with running water, working heating or air conditioning and clear emergency exits.
- Car rental: cars must have a valid registration (carte grise), valid insurance, an up-to-date technical inspection and a clear fuel policy. Asking for an undocumented cash deposit outside the standard rental contract is forbidden.
- Tours and experiences: trips in remote areas (Sahara, High Atlas climbs such as Toubkal…) must be led by licensed guides. Partners must carry a first-aid kit, backup navigation and valid passenger insurance.
- Boats and yachts: boats must hold their navigation and safety authorisations, carry enough working life jackets for the maximum number of passengers and be steered by a skipper with a valid licence.
- Salons, spas and events: places must follow Moroccan health, hygiene and safety rules.
4. Secure payments and fraud
- Payments: online payments go through secure, encrypted payment providers (CMI, Visa, Mastercard).
- Bookings outside the platform: taking a booking or payment outside Destination.ma to avoid the commission is fraud. A partner who does so may have their account closed at once.
- Holds: Destination.ma may temporarily hold a partner's access, balance and automatic payouts when it detects suspicious transactions, an unusual number of disputes or chargebacks, or a fraud report.
5. How to report a problem
If you meet a safety problem, a place or service very different from its description, or a fraud:
- Tell us: open a request in the Help Centre or write to [email protected].
- Send evidence: dated photos, your messages with the partner, or a report from the local authorities.
- We step in: our team looks into it within twenty-four (24) hours. If the partner broke these rules or did not provide the service as described, the booking is cancelled, the traveller is refunded in full (platform service fee included) and the amount is taken from the partner's balance.
6. Personal data and records
- Your documents (Law 09-08): identity documents and business documents collected for the check are stored encrypted and handled confidentially under Moroccan Law No. 09-08. They are never shown publicly or shared with unauthorised third parties.
- Records (Law 53-05): under Moroccan Law No. 53-05 on the electronic exchange of legal data, each acceptance of our terms and each partner agreement is recorded with its date and time, its language and the IP address, as proof of the agreement.
7. Force majeure
Under Article 269 of the Moroccan Code of Obligations and Contracts (DOC), neither the platform nor its partners are liable for a delay or failure caused by an unforeseeable, irresistible event outside their control (such as a major natural disaster or the closure of airspace or borders). Affected bookings are handled according to the decisions of the public authorities or the solutions published on our site.
